Octave Monochord 60
Two sets of overtone and bass strings which are tuned to the same tone on each side with one octave difference. If you strum the strings close to the bridge they are very overtone rich and in the middle they sound more equal, comparable to a gong. The strings create a song picture in our mind which can help us to relax. In the beginning there only seems to be one tone but with a relaxed mind you are able to listen to all the variety of tones and overtones which weave a wistful and invisible melody. This can open our awareness and make us curious to discover the sounds in nature which are also ever-changing.
Sitting in front of the upright self-standing instrument you can play it on both sides with both hands simulataneously. The sound volume is created between the upper body of the player and the instrument and can be ryhtmic, meditative and gong-like.
Holding the instrument securely at the sockets, the whole body can be moved horizontally and rested on the turnable hetad-rest. Now the instrument is positioned in front of the body and can be played on the top or the bottom.
If you want to move the instrument upright again, just lift it up and tighten the two knobs at the socket of the instrument and it will stand securely. Additional Bridges (Two halfs or three thirds) allow you to adjust for intervalls and chords. With the Basic Bridge you can adjust the basic tune.
