MARIMBA

The marimba, also known as marimbaphone, is a percussion instrument whose whipsticks are struck with mallets.

It belongs to the family of wooden baton instruments.

The musical instrument, which goes back to the African forerunner (Balafon), was developed in Guatemala and is widely used in other Central and South American countries as well as in Japan.
