The Shrutibox Paloma large is a slightly heavier model with a particularly balanced, warm, full tone and large frame.
The construction in Recon, the silky matt varnish and the very fine workmanship give the instrument a particularly noble character. Recon is made from bamboo fibers and features comparable properties to teak.

The large frame results in a greatly increased bellows volume compared to the smaller model, which allows the air supply to be dosed very precisely. Double folds in both bellows give it a larger air volume. This means that the sound can be kept completely constant without any effort, even if up to four notes sound at the same time. The volume can be varied from evenly wafer-thin and quiet to perseveringly powerful and loud as fine as no other shrutibox.
The enlarged resonance chamber also provides a fuller overall sound.
Rotating wooden feet give the instrument a particularly stable stand.
Despite the larger dimensions and the higher weight, the Paloma can still be transported large without any problems.


Tuning:
13 chromatic tones from c to c'. Since each of the twelve semitones occurs at least once and can be set up or down a fifth or fourth for a full overall sound, this tuning offers a variety of possibilities that are completely sufficient for most ranges.

General information:

Shrutiboxes are often not tuned according to the western chamber tone a with 440 Hertz, but a little higher at a = 442 Hertz. So there can be deviations upwards or downwards occasionally. When playing with western instruments, whose tuning cannot be easily adjusted, problems may occur under certain circumstances.
